Shakespeare y Radford. El subtexto político en el Mercader de Venecia

Abstract

El sujeto dramático de El mercader de Venecia, tanto de Shakespeare como de Radford, presenta en su origen al sujeto político observable en el uso de las formas de la tolerancia y las categorías de excluido (y extranjero como un caso de este) y lo irrepresentable. El problema a observar es la influencia en (de) nuestra cultura en el sujeto occidental actual. A partir de un análisis comparativo semiótico-textual de contenido, partiendo desde los estudios culturales, es visible la cuestión del poder y las tensiones entre política y ficción, la ideología, la industria cinematográfica y la adscripción al género discursivo-cinematográfico. Como resultado, se visibiliza la huella política que permite identificar al sujeto occidental actual.

The dramatic subject from The Merchant of Venice, both of Shakespeare and Radford, originally presents the observable political subject in the use of the forms of tolerance and the categories of excluded (and alien as a case of this) and the unrepresentable. The problem to observe is the influence in (of) our culture on the current western subject. From a semiotic-textual comparative analysis of content, based on cultural studies, the question of power and tensions between politics and fiction, ideology, the film industry and the ascription to the discursive-cinematographic genre is visible. As a result, the political footprint that identifies the current western subject is visible.
